When our customers asked us for a low profile vise that worked with our modular designs, we went to work. For many months we considered all of the current vise products out today and also all of the low profile clamping solutions we could find.
Low Profile Clamping was very important, a must to our customers
We also knew that the 6″ Kurt® style Angle Lock is the most widely used milling vise and compatibility with those components was paramount.
Lastly, separate components would allow the vise to become as large as your modular plate giving you unlimited possibilities and VERY strong clamping strength.

5 reviews for TT6INMV – 6″ Modular Vise

I was hesitant at first to invest in a modular vise system but when I got a job with a bunch of 18-24″ long components I went ahead and did it.
I gotta say, this is a huge game changer and it changes the way I look at setups. The G-Jaw grips are awesome. I have never roughed so much material off hanging on so little stock. I am very pleased with my Tosa Tool setup… it takes a little bit of finesse to get things flat but when you have the process down and you learn to trust it – it’s fantastic.

These worked out very well for us. We used to do one piece at a time in 2 vises on our VMC4020, now we get 4 on the machine at once and the operator runs another machine as well. Definitely worth every cent to us.

TOSA TOOL MODULAR VISES FOR THE WIN!! We use these things all over the shop, Often the machinists will just use the movable side as a “Push” for jobs we do on the big mills. At this price point they are VERY useful and cost effective. I was skeptical at first they they would get used, but now we use them all over the shop. Great tool.

These are really very good, they are NOT a Kurt 6″ vise strong, but they are very capable. Amazing to get a 6″ vise that is AS BIG as the table on my mill, so great all my vise jaws for all my other vises fit. We own 4, looking for 2 more soon.

The guys in the shop here love these things. We use Saunders fixture plates so we don’t get the pins as far down as we want but these are amazing for what we do anyway. We keep them on the machine all the time and we use them along with clamps for our large panel work. Really adds rigidity and clamping power. Minus 1 star because G-NOBS are weird, but we only used them a few times so far anyway.
